31st January was Jeffrey's (aka as muffin hunter) birthday. We got to know that he was attending a conference in Birmingham and he will only be back in Manchester at night. So after dinner, we left for Asda to get a cake and some baking ingredients.
Got back to Alvin's flat and started baking. The recipe is really simple and straightforward. But well, if the baking fails, we always have a cake to save the day.
Final product. Blueberry cupcakes and honey cornflakes cup. And yes, it smells good, tastes good and looks good. But somehow we took really long baking everything and its about 10.30 pm when we surprised the birthday boy.
Walked out without our coats carrying all the food and wine, we practically ran to Jeffrey's flat. It was freezing cold and yet we cray cray as usual.
We bought an overly sweet Cadbury chocolate cake. Its just layers and layers of chocolate sauce in the cake and the entire cake is coated with chocolate. Bad choice.
The celebration went on with us drinking some wine. Tipsy or not. We talked about weird, mean stuffs which we didn't mean. However I find the conversation very heartwarming? It feels like being in a family. We can talk about anything and still don't find it offending. They are just genuine, honest and nice people which I am very lucky to have met in the UK.
A group selfie to end the night. And Walton, if you are reading this, your phone's front camera is just so good. And Jeff's kitchen has such great lighting.
So once again, Happy 21st Birthday Jeffrey!
