I went to Scotland last year sometime in October. Went to visit my friend in St. Andrews. I spent a day in St. Andrews and another day in Edinburgh before heading back to Manchester.
Presenting a shot of Edinburgh. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful city I ever been.
I took the morning train from Leuchars to Edinburgh. It was about an hour long train.

Started off my day in Edinburgh by having breakfast in The Scottish Market in St. Andrew Square.
Shared this with my friend. It is haggis and black pudding sandwich. Haggis consists of sheep innards whereas black pudding is a type of blood sausage. Bizarre food indeed. Surprisingly, it taste quite good. Give it a try if you visit Scotland!
Had this for breakfast too.
After having breakfast, we went to the Christmas Market and got on to one of the rides. Couldn't recall the name of the ride. Spinner?
It goes up 7-8 floors high up in the sky and spin.

We then head to Calton Hill, one of the attractions in Edinburgh.

After Calton Hill, we went to Edinburgh Castle. It was approximately 20 minutes walk away. Many souvenir shops are located along the street leading to Edinburgh castle. There is an admission fee to enter the castle. However, it was St Andrew's day that day so all admissions into the castle are free. The usual admission fee is 16 pounds.
After that, we head back to city to have our late lunch/tea break. We just love eating food from Christmas market. Edinburgh has really good Christmas market with a vast selection of food and rides.

We then walk around city centre and did some shopping for Christmas. When it started getting dark, we couldn't do anymore sightseeing so we decided to have early dinner before heading home.
And my one day trip to Edinburgh officially ends here. It was a great day but I didn't manage to do much sightseeing. Perhaps, I will be back one day to visit places I didn't manage to visit such as Arthur's Seat. Heard that the view is great from the peak of the hill.
Before I end this post, I would like to thank my tour guide aka bestie who brought me around St Andrews and Edinburgh despite needing to study for exams. And thank you for making me fat by preparing supper and dinner and bringing me to awesome places for yummy food. Thank you!
